                                   MISTAKES

In NLP, (Neuro Linguistic Programming), there are guiding philosophies or  “beliefs” that we call Pre-sups, (Presuppositions).  They are called presuppositions because you pre-suppose them to be true and then act as if they are.  One of them is: There is no Failure, only Feedback.

This is a Powerful Pre-sup.  We only fail if we choose not to learn from it.  If we use Feedback, either from ourselves or from an outside source, it will open us up to learning and improvement as we go through life.  Applying this feedback will prevent life’s mistakes from getting in our way and holding us back.

Not learning from one’s mistakes has often been defined as a form of Insanity.  In fact, Albert Einstein said the definition of Insanity is: “Doing the same thing over and over again but expecting different results”

I think you could also define Insanity as: “Repeating the same mistake over and over again.”

Another definition from the web dictionary seems to streamline and sum up the first two “non-official” definitions of Insanity as simply: “Extreme foolishness or irrationality.”

Now, while categorizing oneself as “Insane” may be an extreme end of this spectrum, However; not learning from our mistakes is indeed foolish and  irrational.

Everyone makes mistakes.  It is a part of life.  It is how we choose to deal with them that will determine how we will move forward.

A Mistake will only become a failure if we choose to be closed-minded to Feedback, and not Learn from it.

Dedicate the Month of January to Transform any mistakes you may make by Learning from them, and become Empowered.
